LOCAL BREWERY SCOOPS SIX MEDALS AT STATE AWARDS
A small country brewery near the town of Myalup in the South West
has just won 6 medals for their beers. The medals were awarded at
the annual Perth Royal Beer Show Dinner at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel
in Perth last Friday night.
Last Friday night, Andrew Harris Director and Brewer at the Old Coast Road Brewery, and his wife Ivanka attended the annual Perth Royal Beer Show Dinner held at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel. It is during the dinner that the results of the annual Sate beer awards are announced.
Mr Harris was pleasantly surprised to learn that out of his 9 beer entries into various categories, that 6 had won medals in their class. “Whilst the medals were all bronze, I was so surprised to learn of the number that had achieved this level” said Mr Harris. “I’m told that the judges were very tough this year, even tougher than at the International Awards” he added. “We are so proud that a small brewer like us has been able to improve our product to the point where we are in such high company”.
Mr Harris believes that the State awards will continue to grow in coming years and give small brewers like himself something to aspire to. “When you see your name listed next to the likes of Lion Nathan and Matilda Bay, it really gives you a buzz to know that you can achieve that level of product quality” he said.
The Old Coast Road Brewery is proud to present
Jonny Taylor, one of the final 12 in Australian Idol 2008.
FREE ENTRY...SUNDAY 7TH November 1.00PM -4.00PM
See you there for his next performance!!!
Jonny Taylor is a singer/songwriter from Bunbury, Western Australia.
As a boy he'd always dreamed of rock stardom and he is well on
his way to achieving that dream.
A classically trained guitarist form the age of thirteen, Jonny always had a strong connection to the darker side of music and life. He was raised on a diet of grunge and rock music and delved into prog rock/metal during his later teen years. At 17 he found a voice and an undying desire to express his thoughts and private poetry through music.
Jonny has been in and out of rock, metal, acoustic and progressive bands as a guitarist and vocalist - but never lost sight of the beautiful bond between voice and acoustic guitar. This is where it all comes together .....
His love of 90's grunge and alternative rock shimmers through the acoustic based sound that has evolved over time. After earning a position in the final 12 of Australian Idol 2008, Jonny quickly learned what he loves and despises about music and life.
